Holiday Project for Feed Just One

I've been designing for this amazing man named Dallas Harris for the past few years. He's responsible for so many great projects (Overlooked, Ubuntu Beads, Feed Just One), all of which help provide necessities to those suffering from various causes all across the world. I've been wanting to do a collaboration project with him for a while and now we're finally able to do so!

A few months ago, I contacted a bunch of my artist friends to help me put together a 2012 Artist Series Calendar (thank you all for donating your art work for this!!).

A portion of the proceeds made from sales will be donated to Feed Just One (a description of Feed Just One in the photo below)

These 11x17 calendars are LIMITED. We only have 50 calendars so make sure you get one! We'll be selling only 25 copies that will be autographed by each artist. These make for perfect Christmas gifts...and most important, this will be a gift that gives back.

We will be selling these calendars at our collaborative event with Fuse next week Wednesday at New Hope Leeward (more info: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=285928538093674. Once they sell out, that's it folks! So make sure you come join us and get a copy! This event is FREE!

Island Adventure

Cristalyne and I went on a little adventure yesterday. We started in Waipahu and LITERALLY went around the WHOLE ISLAND of Oahu. Ok well, not literally. We skipped town and Waianae side but still...we pretty much went all over :) The weather was perfect. PERFECT. HAWAI'I. WEATHER.

First stop, Cinnamon's in Kailua! Yummmmmmmmies!

Break time before lunch: a little collectibles shop in Kahuku.
They had some pretty interesting stuff in there plus a little friend we found just snoozin away in a corner ♥

Next stop, Giovanni's Shrimp Truck! This made my mouth and tummy happy...very happy.

We took a scenic drive into North Shore and lastly, Dole Plantation. What's an around-the-island adventure without some legit pineapple ice cream?!! So nostalgic. And so damn good if you haven't eaten it in awhile.

Ended the day in Kapolei to chill with our good friend, Audrey, before heading back home to Waipahu. We busted out a map to see where we went - we suck at geography. Don't ask us for directions or what highway to take or what street we're on. We have no clue :) But seeing this all laid out was pretty trippy.

I've lived on Oahu my entire life and when you're so used to something, you tend to forget how beautiful certain things are. I get so caught up in my daily life that I take for granted the fact that I live in HAWAI'I; the one place thousands of people escape to each year...I live here. It's definitely a blessing. And it's days like this that makes the reminder so much sweeter.

The show went AMAZING!! After all of our hard work and planning for these past 5 months, we couldn't be any more happy with the results! Overlooked + Overdrive 1.0

I've been working with Overlooked for over a year now as their web designer. I love what they do and I want to support them as much as I can. Their concept of having each shirt support a specific cause is brilliant and brings meaning to the clothing that you wear. Portions of the money they make from each shirt goes into helping the specific cause it represents.

I asked my friend Dallas, (founder of Overlooked), if he could ship me some of his shirts so I could sell and promote them here in Hawai'i. I had an Overlooked booth set up at the REVO show, but in case you missed us, I will be selling them, along with our REVO shirts, here:

Invisible Children's "Hometown Shakedown"

Yesterday, a bunch of us gathered in front of Senator Inouye's office to have our voices heard! Senator Inouye is the most influential person in the senate when it comes to how money is spent. Invisible Children wants to help rebuild the destroyed communities of East Africa and in order to do that, they need money. With that said, they need Senator Inouye's support to help fund this mission.

But what was the purpose of this march? For far too long, Joseph Kony (leader of the LRA) has tortured and damaged the lives of the people of Northern Uganda. He needs to be apprehended, and his war needs to end. But without your help, this is not possible. The LRA Disarmament Bill goes before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee next week. 158 Members of Congress have already co-sponsored this bill and 154,780 people have already petitioned to the arrest of Joseph Kony. Invisible Children need 250,000 petitions to bring to President Obama in December. Click here to sign the petition.
